An Elephant in the Classroom: The Whys and Hows of Classroom Observations

Classroom observations have long been perceived as a control mechanism by observers while a threat by observees. Is it possible to meet on the same page so that ‘classroom observation’ is considered as just another tool for quality assurance? In this session, the presenters will share their institutional journey in creating an observation culture focusing on the whys and hows of classroom observations in a tertiary level foreign language education context.
