About – Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Foreign Language Education

About QAAFL 2

The 2nd International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Foreign Language Education will take place November 10-11, 2022 at Izmir University of Economics.
The first International QAAFL conference was held at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University in May of 2018.

There are two primary aims of this conference:

1) Hold discussions on higher-level issues regarding QA and Accreditation in Foreign Language Education. For this reason, keynote speakers include:

Muhsin Kar (President, Turkish Higher Education Quality Council),
Heidi Vellenga (Executive Director, Commission on English Language Program Accreditation / CEA),
Lou McLaughlin (Executive Director, Eaquals),
Didem Mutcalıoğlu (Executive Director, DEDAK)
Ayşen Güven (British Council, Director of Education).

2) Provide practical training to participants regarding high-needs areas related to quality assurance and accreditation.

Day-one (10 November) of the conference will be an afternoon of workshops on such areas as interpreting and writing responses to accreditation standards, self-study report writing, team-building (for QA and/or accreditation) and so on.
Day-two (11 November) will comprise keynote speakers and breakout sessions from experts in the field The breakout sessions will be one-hour sessions related to quality assurance and accreditation.
